MEDICAL SERVICES PLAN BRITISH COLUMBIA (MSP)

MSP will contribute up to $23 per visit for up to 10 total visits to physiotherapy for people with low incomes who are on premium assistance. If you think you qualify for this contact MSP and check or give us a call and we can check for you.

WORKSAFE BC (WSBC OR FORMERLY WCB)

If your injury was sustained in the line of work it is vital that this is reported to your line manager ASAP so that they may complete and submit the necessary paperwork to WSBC. Once WSBC has received this they will issue you with a claim number. This claim number will entitle you to a physiotherapy assessment but does not guarantee that your claim will be approved.

ICBC (INSURANCE CORPORATION OF BRITISH COLUMBIA)

ICBC provides coverage for physiotherapy services. If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident and have suffered an injury it is important that you have initiated a claim for this with ICBC and have seen your doctor first.

AT-HOME PROGRAM

School-age children in the At-Home Program are also funded for 24 physiotherapy treatments every six months.

EXTENDED HEALTH BENEFITS

About two-thirds of BC adults have extended health benefits through a group insurance plan. These plans tend to cover a varying percentage of the cost of treatment or the whole amount with an annual ceiling amount. It is important to note that most extended health plans do not allow us to direct bill. The appointment must be paid for by yourself upfront, a receipt will be provided which allows you to claim back and be reimbursed for the appointment.

Although it is not necessary to have a physician’s referral to see a physiotherapist, it is important to note that some extended health insurance plans require a physician’s referral in order to reimburse you for claims.

If you have extended health benefits and are not sure what coverage you have in regards to physiotherapy, we are happy to provide you with a list of major group health insurance providers. If your insurance provider is listed below, please click on the link and it will take you to your insurance company where you can enter your policy number and find out what coverage you have. If you are still unsure or your company is not listed here, please call your insurance company with your policy number and they will be able to tell you exactly what your coverage provides and what is required for reimbursement.
